The Trump Presidency 2.0

Remember April and all the wailing and gnashing of teeth about the market? Remember how some of us said “it’ll be fine buy the dip this is gonna shake out”?

I got you a snack after looking at the markets/futures this morning and my investment apps.

Hahaha I just saw it and laughed and laughed.

This is just sort of an observation- but how impatient and petulant have we all become? The instant gratification culture has led to what we are seeing here. People are so narcissistic to not even wait to see if something works, they just make these wild conclusions 2 seconds after a story breaks and the consider they matter closed.

Epstein files, Diddy list, J6 investigation, immigration, Russia/UIkraine war, India/Pakistan war, economy... people decide what's their very high bar for what they expect the admin to do, and the second they don't see their own personal whims gratified with a public statement, they doom post their cynicism as if it's fact and bemoan the Orange Man with no willingness to just wait for even 30 days and see what the outputs are.

I get it, for sure, in the context of "you said you were going to do a thing so do the thing", but here are 100 things, all at once, with goalposts that are constantly moving. It's just a weird world we live in.

Devil's-ish Advocate:
If it's the one I'm thinking off, it has sat at a civilian boneyard in Marana, AZ since 2019 or something. Trump called for the original VC-25 replacement to be cancelled back in his first term (maybe he cancelled it, I don't know). Acquiring and modifying two a/c would have cost something stupid, like 4 billion or some retarded number. Boeing's replacements for the E-4 are two former 747-8's built for a Russian airline but never left the US. So, we're looking at 4 747-8's, probably all of which are foreign aircraft.

That said, keeping the plane is horseshit. Great, $400 million is "free", but the cost to convert will exceed that amount. There's no world in which he should keep the plane. As much as I hate Qatar, a state sponsor of terrorism, the gift is worth it if We The People keep the plane.

Where I have a problem with this lies in the arms deal we'll give to Qatar. No one rides for free and the Qataris are dirty motherfuckers. State sponsors of terrorism. I can't emphasize that enough.

I don't care what Biden would do or "how would you react if..." takes. This is today. The discussion should boil down to:
- Donating to the museum.
- Cost to the American taxpayer including refurbishment and the physical status of other 747-8's; what would it cost to acquire them?
- How cool are we with sponsoring terrorists, even if they would probably support a war against Iran? Maybe. The CAOC and Al Udeid argument is a whole different can of worms.

ETA: some spelling corrections.

Pretty much exactly my take on it. A "gift to the DOD" is Qatar trying to get on our good side. Now, that's just global diplomacy, which means we do lots of shit with shady governments for short term deals. I don't like it, but i understand it.

And keeping the plane*? Absolutely just unacceptable. For the love of God, I'm agreeing with Laura Loomer (minus the take a bullet for the prez; lolwut?)

*insert "big if true"

Mannnnnn, this plane gift is the dumbest from all angles. Watching this story develop over the last 3 days has been the fastest I think I have ever went from "Don't care, take it, whatever" to "Nope, this is horseshit".

Qatar is a terror hub with more money than Pakistan. Qatar had dumped billions, maybe trillions, into funding wack ideologies here in America through academia and NGOs. We shouldn't take foreign money (in this specific context) even if it save us money on the bottom line. Trump isn't taking the plane for personal use when he leaves office, I don't know how many more times we have to play the "BuT tRuMp SaId It" game.

Don't take the plane, it's bad optics, it's a distraction, and it's bad precedent. We are not a serious country.

In much more important news...

You can say whatever you want about the man, but let's assume this middle east trip gets what we think it's going to get (mended relationships and $1 TRILLION for America) - we just went through an admin that was quite literally asleep at the wheel, and Trump is holding a press conference a day, working 24/7, and producing outputs day after day after day.

If you wrote down a list of accomplishments just in the last 7 days of this admin and you took Trump's name off of it and put on Biden or Obama or Desantis' (if he had won) name, everyone in the world would be screaming for a Nobel peace prize and statues at all public facilities. It's so crazy to watch how polarizing Trump is; he nailed it at the joint session of Congress earlier this year.

"It doesn't matter how much good I do, you will never clap for me, because I am who I am."

The original contract to convert the two VC-25s to Air Force Ones was a contract of $4B...like how is that even possible? What are we converting? Are we saying the escape pod is real and the comms suite is that expensive? Trump renegotiated the contract, which will lead to Boeing taking a sweet 1B loss by the time one is delivered. But wtf, our procurement and development is completely jacked if it takes this long to deliver a slightly modified plane. Remember, this contract was executed in 2018...it is now 2025.

And now, I present to you, 2028 hopeful and alleged lizard person Gavin Newsom sprinting at full speed away from his party and towards something resembling conservative positions.

Uh...since when did he flip flop? https://ktla.com/news/california/ne...es-to-remove-homeless-camps-shares-blueprint/

This is such a weird timeline. I guess his wealthy donors got fed up with dudes shooting up in their front lawn and no police available to remove them?

4 billion is a number I found from 2017 or something way back during Trump's first term.

It is up to 13 billion for 5 aircraft with completion in 2036.

The Airborne Command Post mission is leaving the Navy E-6 platform and the Air Force hadn't even selected a replacement airframe as of last year. We're going to buy a lot of expensive widebody aircraft to update our national level C2 in the next decade.

The answer is the Deep State and Jill were running the country. In one sense, this country just runs. It doesn't need an executive. But without an executive the Deep State will shape the country as it has. See DEI, see Trans stuff etc.

The press was complicit with the Democratic Party in running interference. There needs to be a reckoning amongst the Deep State Press apparatus. Biden should have been 25thd or actually never stood for election. But the Democratic Party (Pelosi) wouldn't do what was right for the country.

It's been sort of a slow move, been happening since his viist to the White House during the Biden turned Harris campaign. He has a podcast (that no one listens to) where he has tried to walk back all his previous positions, he tried bringing on Charlie Kirk and some other more conservative dudes to get closer to the center, if that's a thing anymore.

To be fair, I have no clue if he is even still doing it, or what the analytics are. Every clip of his podcast I have seen was shown to me without my consent.

Just looked- it's not good hahah. apparently he is still releasing episodes, coming in at a 2.9/5 star rating w/ 6k reviews. Our little show has a 4.9/5 rating with 1.1k reviews. Not great for him.

You know it's bad when even your own Democrat Party has had enough of your shit.

He committed the cardinal sin of the left- he dared break from party narrative. Also, he's a young white dude... they really don't like that.

This makes me furiously angry. Unreal grift here. Jake Tapper is a liar and a hypocrite of the highest regard.

"The White House lied to us about Biden."

Yeah, nah. You carried their water or were too stupid to see what was going on. Pick one. Own it. Then fuck off to the sun. And this goes to any reporter or ANYONE trying to walk back their talking points during the Biden years. You knew it and were too cowardly or beholden to the system to speak up, or you are plain stupid. Your modern mea culpas fall on deaf ears.

Surely you'll forgive us for our actions from 2020-now!?

Qatar has funded anti-fracking movies (and protests).
