The Trump Presidency 2.0

Lol ok tight. I don't care about the breathless OuTrAgE from Christian Conservatives, I don't understand a group that worships a guy as the head of the church (I grew up Catholic and never understood the fielty to the Pope), I was joking with the wife about how the new Pope and the mayor of Nairobi have the exact same impact on my life, the way I live it, or anything else.

Odd, don't care, moving on.
Dude, going to Catholic School is probably the thing that made me become an atheist/Non-religious. Going to Tuesday/Thursday Mass during school and then a Presbyterian service with my grandparents on Sunday just made some of the Catholic stuff seem extra weird, which led further to comparisons amongst other sects/religions.

Anyways, Laura Loomer says the new Pope is a woke Trump-hating commie, but apparently he's also a homophobe who hates abortion; I'm waiting for the liberal hive mind to tell me what to think about him*. /s

*He seems like every Chicago Catholic I've ever met. Probably shoots malort on Saturday and confesses on Sunday

What did Trump do to get an American to be the next Pope?
Clearly it was a clever bid by the Vatican Cardinals to try and avoid Trumps 10% tariff on indulgences. Sarc

"'Their prayers clearly worked better than the pope’s,' bragged Trump, who is a strong supporter of the U.S. prayer industrial complex."

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

So, is the Vatican going to take in immigrants/ refugees? Or just preach about immigration……

Leo chatting about Immigration already? Or we referring to Francis nonsense? Vatican citizenship is incredibly exclusive. It's tied to work status and if you live in the Vatican, so if you are non-Clergy that gets revoked the moment you move out. Children of Vatican employees have citizenship if they reside in the Vatican, but they only hold that citizenship for as long as they live there. Pretty exclusive passport.

"Leo chatting about Immigration already?"

Not yet, but it's on the horizon...

Pope Leo unhappy with US immigration policy and won’t stay silent, brother says

John Prevost says his brother is middle-of-the-road but shares Pope Francis’s concerns about Trump’s policy

Pope Leo unhappy with US immigration policy and won’t stay silent, brother says

Ah yes, guy's brother wants 15 minutes of fame. Gonna be great, this will be a very American Papacy then. His whole family will yap. Maybe because Francis was from Argentina, but I don't remember his family trying to get theirs. Sigh.

But yes, I could give a rip. I have a lot of empathy for people wanting a better life, my grandfather chose to serve in Korea and it changed the whole outlook for his eventual family. The Army allowed me to get an education and be in a different place than my father. However, the dangers of trying to come here are so well publicized it's clear that the risks are somehow still worth the reward for them. Yet the volume of people illegally immigrating are not people who want to be American either. So...they don't have my sympathy.

Remember April and all the wailing and gnashing of teeth about the market? Remember how some of us said “it’ll be fine buy the dip this is gonna shake out”?

I got you a snack after looking at the markets/futures this morning and my investment apps.

Hahaha I just saw it and laughed and laughed.

This is just sort of an observation- but how impatient and petulant have we all become? The instant gratification culture has led to what we are seeing here. People are so narcissistic to not even wait to see if something works, they just make these wild conclusions 2 seconds after a story breaks and the consider they matter closed.

Epstein files, Diddy list, J6 investigation, immigration, Russia/UIkraine war, India/Pakistan war, economy... people decide what's their very high bar for what they expect the admin to do, and the second they don't see their own personal whims gratified with a public statement, they doom post their cynicism as if it's fact and bemoan the Orange Man with no willingness to just wait for even 30 days and see what the outputs are.

I get it, for sure, in the context of "you said you were going to do a thing so do the thing", but here are 100 things, all at once, with goalposts that are constantly moving. It's just a weird world we live in.

Devil's-ish Advocate:
If it's the one I'm thinking off, it has sat at a civilian boneyard in Marana, AZ since 2019 or something. Trump called for the original VC-25 replacement to be cancelled back in his first term (maybe he cancelled it, I don't know). Acquiring and modifying two a/c would have cost something stupid, like 4 billion or some retarded number. Boeing's replacements for the E-4 are two former 747-8's built for a Russian airline but never left the US. So, we're looking at 4 747-8's, probably all of which are foreign aircraft.

That said, keeping the plane is horseshit. Great, $400 million is "free", but the cost to convert will exceed that amount. There's no world in which he should keep the plane. As much as I hate Qatar, a state sponsor of terrorism, the gift is worth it if We The People keep the plane.

Where I have a problem with this lies in the arms deal we'll give to Qatar. No one rides for free and the Qataris are dirty motherfuckers. State sponsors of terrorism. I can't emphasize that enough.

I don't care what Biden would do or "how would you react if..." takes. This is today. The discussion should boil down to:
- Donating to the museum.
- Cost to the American taxpayer including refurbishment and the physical status of other 747-8's; what would it cost to acquire them?
- How cool are we with sponsoring terrorists, even if they would probably support a war against Iran? Maybe. The CAOC and Al Udeid argument is a whole different can of worms.

ETA: some spelling corrections.
