Your 2024 Presidential Election Thread

Yes. He took pleasure antagonizing his opponents—which on the one hand delighted his supporters—on the other, it turned his opponents into mortal enemies.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tweets. But, at the same time recognized that he was turning a lot people off. So many people I know said "I just wish he'd stop tweeting." I Totally respect that sentiment and later supported it. But I don't get my feelings hurt easy and it was also comedic relief.

I'll say this. That was a moment in time but I wish he'd stop picking fights now and try to show that he is the better man because Biden has opened that door for him. He should campaign on it. His policies have my vote though, because thats what matters to me since I am no longer under the illusion that our presidents are or ever have been good and decent men.

I'll readily admit that even my favorite POTUS, Reagan, was corrupt. Just so happens I aligned with him on most issues. Even some of the shit he was doing behind congress' back.

The man became a house hold name as a "reality TV" personality.
Our nation turned itself into a reality TV show quite some time ago and embraced it.
He fits.
He represents the average American more than the average American will EVER admit.
He acts EXACTLY like the person that Americans voted for - but we are still outraged at his behavior.
...because its not "presidential"
PFFT - "presidential" - whatever that means.

"We the people" want to believe that those old mottos like "e pluribus unum" or "in God we trust" but I know better - in fact, I'd bet most of the 81 million votes counted for Joe Biden are more culturally attached to mottos such as "like us on F@ceB00k" or even "f0110w us on Twixter"
We worship social media influencers - and when they tell us to hate somebody for what they post on F@ceB00k and Twixter - we can't wait to hate.

Of course, we elected a reality TV personality - it's who we are.
Of course, we elect corrupt establishment politicians with no loyalty to anyone but their own image and no morals that any of us would have learned in Sunday school - because that is who we are.

If its been said once, its been said a thousand times - we the people deserve the government that we get.
So embrace the 2024 election season folks - now get out there and vote hard - vote early - vote often.

I think the trick is to pretend you’re a Martian and have no stake in earthly matters. You’re content to sit in your underwear in your subterranean city 12 miles below the Perseverance Rover, and watch the 20-minute delayed broadcasts of American news shows on your head antennas. Being so detached, you can reap the pure entertainment value of US politics without any emotional investment.

The left is so obsessed with status, they are constantly trying to emulate royalty and refuse to acknowledge the pits they crawled out of. Looking down on anyone they left behind. Meanwhile Trump embraces those Americans.

And no one will ever convince me that if he had done that, he would be wrapping up his second term right now. 100%.
If you think mean tweets are the cause of the mess were in... I have a bridge to sell you.

We had the mainstream media, federal law enforcement, and intelligence communities (foreign and domestic) collude to try to overthrow the Orange Man, all lead by the DC establishment. All the while, we had communist sub humans burn and loot American cities for 'racial equity', over the death of a crackhead.

So yeah... I don't buy that line of reasoning. Nor do I buy the puppet sitting as POTUS winning anything. The election was stolen and Trump 'not acting presidential' sounds like a media talking point.

Speaking of which, does your buddy who works for the media still have a job? You mentioned him a long time ago. Was wondering how the destruction of his profession was going.

You have many bridges for sale, truthfully I don’t think most of them are worth the cost, but I acknowledge there are a few I at least walk across from time-to-time.

Yes. Barely.

You're not all wrong, but maybe just not fully understanding the point?

I think the election was probably rigged, but moving on there is no doubt that a lot of potential voters get butthurt over Trump's tweets. At the same time, his base expects him to continue to be Trump. He should try to find a way to appeal to both.

We'll see if it even matters. The establishment is already trying to ensure the election outcome for 2024.

What if the crazy rabbit told you there was a group of people who are actively sabotaging us as a nation. That there are people so addicted to power and wealth, that they'll sacrifice us for their own benefit and enjoyment. That via technology and consensus, they're trying to force people to think blue is green and man is woman.

Would you buy that bridge?

I'll be honest, I was not a fan of Trump. When he was running I saw him as a rich New York Democrat, still do. That said, the way media and technology was used to deliver a false dichotomy of Orange Man Bad made me venture through the looking glass. He was their boy and then they all turned on him.

I know I'm going to sound like a tinfoil mad hatter, but what's the possibility the mass consensus against Orange man is just generated bullshit? Like as a kid, you're told not to play with snakes, lizards, spiders, etc. Adults tell you this so you don't envenomed, poisoned, etc. What happens when the institutions that are supposed to inform us and keep us safe tell us the opposite? Mix that with social media amplifying a false signal and boom, mass polarization.

I dunno. Maybe I missed the point. My brain feels wonky.

I still think one of the reasons why the media hates him sooo much is because they helped create him in 2016. "Trump is a joke, our girl Hillary will kill him in the election, so let's give him airtime because he's good for ratings".

While I would like to agree, there is more to this than that. The mainstream media has absolutely destroyed itself, on both sides of the spectrum. Same with the reputation of the State Dept, the Federal govt, and it's various agencies. Like are you ever gonna trust the CDC, NIH, or FBI ever again?

Why would these very dissimilar entities collude with big tech to push a false narrative and utterly destroy themselves?

What if the crazy rabbit told you there was a group of people who are actively sabotaging us as a nation. ...

The group of people you're talking about is more than a group. It's a series of social "movements" that have arisen opportunistically and blended together to make the impression it's one cohesive, organized body.

I'd call it more of a collection of initiatives that have sprung up independently and that all mingle together in the Leftist/Socialist political camp. You've got Black Lives Matter, Me Too, LGBTQ, Civil Rights, Antifa, Pro Choice, Universal Health Care, Open borders, Occupy Wall Street, Global Warming, White Privilege, Anti-Gun Trump-haters and a host of whack job, dissatisfied fringe groups all looking for a free hand-out.

And IMO, collectively--whether intentionally or not--they will drastically change this country for the worse.
