Yeah, I wouldn't consider using one unless I was using a 416 or a SCAR.

We had a Knights job we were firing on a 417 and a Surefire we used on an Aug, both piston driven. The 417 was pretty chocked up after 250 rounds fired at a steady rate. The Aug got to 450-500 before it started choking. They still throw a lot of shit back in the system even with the piston.

Taking the mag off after a serial was a bit of a shock, brass that was shiny before hand looked like it had been lying in the open for a month or two. You get a really thick coating of grey gunge all over the bolt carrier/group. We were only using CLP as a lube as some pogue still thinks its the bees knees.

i don't think 'the can' is designed for high rate of fire. Lots of problems after awhile, but fine for light work.

Photos: Exercise Flintlock

Earlier this year, a small group of Canadian soldiers from CFB Petawawa touched down in Senegal to help train African special forces. It was a first for Canada, and underscored the West’s growing concern about the inroads al-Qaeda is making in the region known as the Sahel

Regarding the picture with the chinook. The caption says "Kandahar 2007" and has a stryker in the background. I thought strykers weren't in Afghanistan until 2009? Or did some ISAF countries such as Canada have strykers there already? If OPSEC then disregard.

Strykers are made here in Canada and we had them long before 2007 but we call them LAV III's. They've been a part of the Canadian contingent since at least 2003. I can't remember if we brought any in 2001, I know we had Coyote surveillance vehicles then but can't remember if they brought any thing else.

This is pretty interesting.

Here is a video on Operation Flintlock. the video showcases CSOR special Operators from the 1st Special Forces Coy, (I hear) with US Green Berets.
This video is better then one picture. I was surprised to see CSOR in action.

I'm going to add some new pics later on tonight of JTF2 escorting PM Stephen Harper. if no one else does it...

Found this one randomly, looks like one of those promo photos of the JTF 2 site, but never seen this one.

Guess I won't mind adding some photos...

Here's a strange one. Looks like a couple of SOF types in there, but what's up with the two people in the foreground? They're wearing what looks like a variation of the PSP Gryphon armour but are armed and in uniform.

Looks like the dude in the back seat with the balaclava is wearing CADPAT TW. If he is wearing TW,
I'd guess this is from 2002-2003 ish?
