My man's not even trying to hide the end game.
For a liberal he sure is into massive authoritarian control, a central government where all of the power resides with one man. Sounds like this:
a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
or this:
a political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.
Minus the nationalism and race part, y'all got you some good old-fashioned Fascism. Fortunately, he's pushing the economy towards Socialism and People's Democratic Republic of Canada has a nice ring to it. That helps you avoid the "F bomb."

I think the nationalism and race parts are there, just redefined. Trudeau once declared Canada as the first postnational state and in an article with the NY Times after he was elected, admitted to Obama's help getting elected. Since then he's brought in Democrat style dirty politics into Canada. And instead of race, he uses identy politics.

All of this, over refusing an order to take the covid vaccines. It doesn't matter if it's SOF or conventional, the CAF across all Branches is imploding.

We've had the discussion here about how the Left moved far left and the Right didn't move as much which in turn means those who didn't shift are now right of center. We're about the same age, so we both remember how Maher used to represent the kind of far out Left in this country. He's a now a guy who is more "moderate" than his party. He is vehemently opposed to wokeism, cancel culture and the like, our COVID response, etc. If you read transcripts of his monologues you'd think you were dealing with a Conservative. Maher is anything but, however I think he's a great barometer to show how far the Left has moved in this country.

Agree. Maher is not wrong about everything but I personally just think he's a shitty person. Many examples, but his remarks on Stan Lee and Stan Lee fans were uncalled for. He basically said "I'm not glad Stan Lee is dead...I'm just sad his fans are alive" and that marvel fans need to grow up and stop reading comics and watching those movies.
I'm not a Marvel fan, don't watch the movies or read comic books, but fuck him and his opinion on what people should or shouldn't enjoy.

Out of curiosity I watched his sit down with Kid Rock. Its no secret here I'm more aligned politically with Kid Rock, but Maher was civil and it was refreshing to see those two disagree on most things while still having a good time.
I really enjoyed his sit down with Dr Phil. He definitely needs therapy.
