Some other points. They've added new materials and "junk" to scavenge. I'm still working out how to craft some things, but I'd pay attention when digging around. Gears seem to be particularly difficult to find so far and they are used in a lot of items. I've run out of ammo on my two best guns and without the ability to reload ammo or purchase early in the game I'm at a bit of a disadvantage. One HUGE thing I discovered (I'll use the PC commands): Hold "V" to bring up the interface for building. If you walk around you can place your cursor on trees, buildings, file cabinets, cars.....damn near everything and it will turn yellow or green. The yellow items are ones to scrap and the scrap wood and metal doesn't count against your carry weight. You can have a few hundred units of wood and metal for building and it doesn't penalize you.....unlike Skyrim.

Food heals you, but over time, not instantly.

I hate the goddamn dog. I'm going to park that bastard tonight. One flaw with Bethesda games IMO is the companions getting in the way while in buildings. Yes, I should tell them to wait outside, but I don't like stopping to control something which should help me, not slow the game's flow.

I noticed a few graphics glitches, particularly the partial shading from trees. It flickers from time to time. I'm on my small game rig with a 2gb GT 750 so I may need to play with the settings to eliminate that. Visually the game is better than FO3. Picking locks is the same method but even the bobby pin detail is greatly improved. I can't wait to run this on my box at home.

My low end rig for those curious:
i3-4160
8GB of RAM
GTX 750 with the latest whatever.91 drivers from NVIDIA

Minus the graphics "flicker" with the trees' shadows I've seen no performance issues.

At 10 hours in an I'll shut up about FO4.

The 2GB 750 is running "custom" between Low and Medium. I can look at it on my home PC with a 2Gb 770 next month.

Hordes of feral ghouls are fun. Crafting is pretty cool once you see how it differs from earlier versions.

I still hate that damn dog.

I just sided with the Brotherhood of Steel (probably the vanilla thing to do) and have worked with the Minutemen on a few missions/ settlements. My character's about a level 10 or so and I'm focusing on building some settlements, hacking/ lockpicking, and scrounging perks. Once I have some trading routes going I'll sally forth in earnest. With unlimited XP I can spec my guy towards combat later with no worries.

One of the few AAA titles I've paid full price for and didn't feel cheated.

Started playing a little bit last night.. Almost two hours.
First impressions.. Pretty good and definitely can see the Skyrim influence with sneaking. I like the new VATS in slow-mo.

Had a little hiccup with getting it to display on my middle monitor of three. Once I fixed that it didn't allow me to play in 4K. Got the black screen.

Once I changed it back to just 1080 graphics, I was able to run flawlessly with everything on ultra settings and seemed locked at 60fps.

As of right now on Steam. 12,351 reviews with "Mostly Positive"
Most of the negative reviews are simple hardware issues. A lot of people disappointed that they didn't improve on some great stuff from New Vegas.

GTX 970 with Drivers 358.91 and 4GB GDDR5
Windows 10 64bit

The most important item in the game, just might be the desk fans. That's where I've got all my gears from.

Fans for gears, flip-lighters for oil, and globes for their cork.

Just picked up a combat shotgun. Now shit gets real. Also, siding with the BoS results in a pretty bad-ass laser rifle which can be modded as well. I just arrived at the old Fenway Park (Diamond City) and will explore that tonight after work. I'm in no rush to finish the game.

When you go to the National Guard Armory, bring ammo and be ready for ghouls. The Glowing Ones in this game are harder to kill than those in FO3.

When you guys get to the institute, let me know if it's bugged for you... I hit a complete dead end there.

P.S. Typewriters have gears too

I think I made a mistake buying RP some Rip-it's, he bought Fallout 4 last night.:wall:

Your battle stations are weak compared to this. It can be yours for only $100,000 though...
