Gaming thread

@Freefalling I can make them. But then again, it's a mod like some others I have.

PC= Custom.
It can be a truck hauling yomamma and friends in the back while towing a house, it can be a dragstrip beast taking home the money.
It can be a motorcycle filtering traffic at mach 10 with the cops that will never catch it, chasing behind it.
It can be exactly what you want of it, when you want of it. Every feature from the interface of a keyboard and mouse, to how you see it, to the actual nitty gritty, is customized to what you want, should you want to.

Console= Bone stock, dealers lot, Toyota Corolla..... with the hood welded shut, and sheet metal welded across the underside, and with security screws on EVERYTHING. Yes, you can have up to 4 people in the car, no more. Yes, you can store your games in the miniscule trunk... but you can never exceed 55 miles per hour because it's limited to third, you can't even change the oil, and if one thing fails on it, you have to buy a whole new one.

For me it's more basic than that... without customizing:

PC = Joystick, rudder, throttle + 108 keys with multiple "chords" (shift + alt+ ctrl + function) (Downside, single player at a time)
Console = 2 joysticks and 12-16 buttons each player, total of 256 potential button press combinations

PC video card - fast + more resolution + multi screen output
Console video card - slow - single screen or duplicate outputs only

PC Monitor - very high resolution (more than 4k)
Console Monitor - limited to TV resolutions (1080p)

If you use a console controller for any reason other than because a game is severely suffering from consolitis, then... well, yeah. I was going to be nice, but you're bad and should feel bad.

ETA:
This falls into my previous statement.... playing fighting games via an emulator console or what have you, designed for a joystick and say 4-6 buttons, is way easier and more enjoyable than trying to fight with getting a proper Hadouken from a mouse and keyboard.

I only bring up the controller because there are people who complain they can't use a mouse and that's why they have a console. Meh. I've never even hooked a controller up to a PC.

Been playing Tom Clancy's The Division exclusively since it came out. It delivers more than it did during the closed and pen betas.

Absolutely best to play with a couple of friends though.

I was interested in this game until the beta came out and it took multiple clips to take an enemy down kind of ruined it for me...Some love that rpg element to it though..

So is The Division like an MMO where you swing and your weapon does 23-30 damage every time till you upgrade? Or do the hit boxes and aim points matter?

It is definitely more RPGish than shooter, but if I were able to one shot people with headshot every time, the game wouldn't be all that fun.

There are hit boxes, but it more or less comes down to either head or body. Seems to be a bit more than double or so on headshots to bodyshots, and than sometimes a crit to do another double on that. just my fuzzy math in my head. Haven't looked at the numbers to that degree.

Your character only gets better with the perks from upgrading your HQ and the gear you wear. There are also additional mods for your gear that will increase it more and more. Weapons have a variety of stats to include DPS, RPM, and DMG.

I did download the division for my PS4, so far I like it....the aiming threw me off a bit, so use to aiming down the sights than the side thing the division uses.

At least when you mod your weapon to have a scope you can go to first person view.

I stand corrected I see your point.
