Gaming thread

Steam users....don't lose your minds with all the updates today. Check your hard drive, it looks like Steam consolidated some redistributables and saved you a bunch of disk space.

Playing an older game-Borderlands 2..Still fun.One game I couldnt get through was Deus Ex.Tough game for me.

If someone in this house got the heck off of the Xbox One would be playing Fallout 4 or The Witcher.

The original Deus Ex took several months to beat, but was oh so worth it.

Its sitting right in front of me.May give it another shot.Though my TV may be at risk since I am known to occasionally whip my controller out of frustration.lol.Good for you that you finished it.

I have about 11 billion hours in that game. Gunzerker with Unkempt Harold, a slag pistol, and the Bee shield. Everything dies. The Siren is underpowered until you can put points into applying slag during the suspension thing she does.

The downside to those builds is you have to farm for the Bee and enough tokens to purchase Unkempt Harold.

I have put many hours into the game as well. Never used the Bee shield. In the 1st Borderlands I played as Mordecai-love Bloodwing-but now I always use the turret. Never played as the Gunzerker or the Siren.
Since restarting have a favourite grenade but not enough Torgue tokens yet.Want to try playing as the psycho one time.

I try all of the characters at some point and those two are my favorite. Zero isn't bad if you do nothing but snipe, but the Psycho didn't impress me. For Torque tokens you have to farm Pyro Pete's bar and run that challenge over and over and over....20-23 tokens per run and you need over 600....it gets tedious and then you have to cycle between the vending machines not only for a UH, but one with the stats you want. My method was to earn the tokens and then fast travel between the vending machines before going back to Pete's and grinding again until the machines reset (20 minutes) and you could wash, rinse, repeat.

The Bee is farmed at the radio station on the map with the pipeline. The Gearbox forums have a ton of tips and locations, but I could make the Bee grind 20-30 times before I got the shield.

The Scarlett DLC has a gun which is badass, but I forget the details. It is one where if she doesn't reward the variant you want. Again, the Gearbox forums (just Google for Borderlands forum) will have a ton of information and build ideas for every class. Youtube is another invaluable source for BL2 builds, rare drops, etc.

Thanks for the info.As a lower level character always try to hit the Beatdown and head to Pyro Petes.Tough getting there early on.Great place for tokens and Eridium drops. Also good to level up.I do the same at Lynchwood by going in at a low level-dropping my turret then throwing grenades and run lol

Either going to the Rustyards or the Bunker tomorrow.Im only level 28-bunker is 27. I try to be at least 3 levels ahead of any task..

So you werent impressed with the psycho? Is Zero the Assassin? Tried him briefly I think..Will check out the places you mentioned.

Zero is the assassin. He has a perk that allows shots to bypass shields and some others that make him attractive with the right sniper rifle. I haven't touched the game since the Pre-Sequel came out (mediocre though the "jet packs" were cool) so I don't recall the specifics. The Gearbox forums would have better answers.

I generally reserved the DLC until after I beat the Warrior because he guarantees a Legendary drop. The last playthrough it kind of doesn't matter because you'll be at 72 long before you beat him. The OP levels are tough as a solo player. Guys have made it to OP8, but I think OP5 with the Siren and 3 or 4 with the Gunzerker were my best.

Pyro Pete may still have a map glitch you can exploit to farm him for Seraph crystals and the occasional orange drop. I think the only boss I never beat was the acid guy in the Scarlett DLC.

I was watching the news and saw the story of SFC Martland. Am i the only one who noticed the shocking resemblance he has to the main character in black ops 3? They look identical.

It is the chiseled jaw and practiced look of disdain that marks every SF guy.
That's an interesting statement. Maybe it was intentional? The only info I could find on military consultants in video games said that their consultants were fairly high ranking officers. Does the military try to shape the way that they are perceived in video games or can you go consult without repercussions?
I understand your answer was sarcastic. But this came up when I was thinking about civilian applications for SOF skill sets

Well, it doesn't get much more "authentic" than an actual mission.

There are rules in place to allow outside consulting/employment, many people just choose not to follow them.
