What is everyone playing Battlefield 1 on? I may join in if it's Xbox

PSA: BF1 Blows

I heard the BF1 story is only around 5 hours long. Can anyone debunk that? I already have the new COD ready to go and Dishonored 2 is coming out soon. Granted my ability to sit down and veg out is going to become nonexistent once my class date starts for SMA

It is fun if you rent it. Multiplayer is where it is at.
Admittedly, that isnt a bad idea if you don't plan on keeping it. I heard the story was good, but MP sucked. The BF4 platoon I am in has a few people playing it, but overall the consensus I have heard says that MP is pretty bad. I played the beta and was not impressed. They would have been better served by going back to WW2, Vietnam or even to the Korean Conflict. A lot of people are saying it will fall flat like Hardline did.

I rented it yesterday, I enjoyed most of the campaign thus far.

I typically save the computer for MMOs and RTS games and I moved to the Xbox for shooters. Dunno why, since I don't really enjoy controllers, but I suppose it was just because of the people I enjoyed playing with.

ETA: I'm not really a campaign player, so if multiplayer sucks I'm out.

That's funny. XBox and shooters are the exact reason I stay away from consoles. Playing 12 year olds doesn't appeal to me

Having a blast with BF1. Operations in MP is a ton of fun so far. I can see how it might get dull after playing the same maps over and over again but the expansions will bring new maps AND new weapons.
You just need to have an open mid when playing it. The horses have the health of tanks and it is not very historically accurate(there are no Russians or French)
But it has been loads of fun for me so far.

BF2 and BF2142 were the best BFs of all times. The Titan mode on 2142 was loads of fun.

LoL that is exactly what they said about BF Hardline and a few months later it turned into a barren wasteland. $120 down the drain, and never again will I preorder a BF game. Which hurts because I have been a die-hard fan since 1942 came out and owned every version except this one. :youllpay:

The problem is that you've already shelled out $60 for the game and the expansions are gonna cost even more if you didn't get the season pass.

Maybe I'll just stick with Garden Warfare, Star Wars, and Overwatch until the game has seen a few months of action.

If you've never played Garden Warfare, it's actually a pretty solid game.

2142 was the worst one ever!

Lies and propaganda! It was one of the best! The mechs, hover tanks, and drop pod APCs were amazing. Not to mention the awesome titan mode game play! It was also the first one where you could collect dog tags with melee kills.

Oh man.... I bet you're all about some COD Infinity too! :ROFLMAO:

Not generally a big COD fan (snicker), however, I think their decision to go into the future was a good one. Their problem though is that MP is not team based, instead it is individually based. Example, if you have one badass on the team... he can win just by having the highest K/D. Doesn't matter how well the opposing team does. COD is almost entirely K/D based. However, in BF you can have the same badass on an opposing team, and if he doesn't help with the objectives, the team with better internal work will almost always win.

More importantly, us poor folk have to get our money's worth in the games we purchase. I purchased BF4 when it first came out with the season pass for around $60. I still play it almost every day and enjoy it immensely. So you could say I got more than my money's worth. However, BF Hardline was $120 for the game and the season pass, and ended up tanking only a few months into its run (should have been obvious after the Battlefront disaster). In essence, aside from the lame ass WW1 era, weapons (everyone using exotic prototype weapons that were never mass produced), ect.... from what I have personally seen, interest is nowhere near what it was for BF3 or BF4. They haven't even released the hardcore setting for gameplay (IMHO the only mode to play).

Worse yet, EA has decided to not allow users that rent a server to be able to admin their own servers. What that means is that before, you could purchase a server and admin it as you see fit... mods, kick who you want, set your own rules, etc... Now they have decided they don't want people admining their own servers to keep them from discouraging people to play. We won't even mention the massive hacking ban that came down before the game event went live to the public. So yeah, looking forward to COD more, even though I am not really a COD fan and stopped playing the series after the last modern warfare release. :whatever::-/

I can't imagine bf1 in hardcore mode. It doesn't take a whole lot to kill someone, unlike bf4 (non hardcore mode). I'm glad they went back to WW1, which COD should have done, since WW is where they started. Bf1 destroys bf4 in pretty much every aspect of game play and the entire environment is destructible, making it a challenge to avoid a piece of building from crushing your skull negan style.
