Just not a fan of gaming shifting towards cloud computing. I like having a physical copy of games and going through a third party service isn't palatable. Steam getting hacked all the time, 3rd party PITA authentication/password recovery, and everything else from program management to hardware setup isn't my cup of tea. It's bad enough that the NSA and every other data compiler knows that I like older blondes, but them knowing I've sunk 100+ hours on something like 'Spyro the Dragon' is just a line in the sand I don't wanna cross. Yet.Why do you dislike online gaming services? Every game I buy on Steam, I can use offline. I don't NEED an internet connection, and I have less connectivity on a regular basis going through various parts of North America than any tactical element does in the military. Just because I get my game through an online delivery system doesn't mean any detriment. VR tech is more mature on PC than it ever will be on the nerfed through standardization console platforms, and Gaming is standardized. You game on PC's. Everything else, including Mac's, tries to provide the best emulated experience of.....gaming on a PC.
Don't get me wrong, I know that PC gaming has amazing benefits but the drawbacks are also quite big as well. I mean I get it. Everyone knows that consoles are just shitty gaming PC's, but I'm just not seeing the return of dropping 1-3k on a system that will be obsolete in 4-5 years. In a few more years, when VR tech gets cheaper and is of a higher quality I'll drop the money on it. For now, I'm happy with what I have.
