Been meaning to do this for awhile, but finally downloaded Elite for PS4, they even had the deluxe version on sale. I’m doing the tutorials right now, very different game than I am used to, looking forward to mastering the controls.

Master race or die. Straight up. Consoles share the universe, but cannot crossplay with PC.

Probably for the best, what with Voice Attack, VR, HOTAS, etc for PC.

You flat out can't fly alongside me, you can't share my cockpit, I can't let you fly one of my fighters. You exist as a console player, solely as part of the background simulation. Nothing more.
Mind you, I am the same way for you, but given all you can do with/on/for/to a PC..... playing a complex game like this on a console is like sticking your dick in a meat grinder then blaming trump because you couldn't make good hamburger.

I'm on my 4th play thru of RedDead2 so it is time to begin something new.

I want to begin Witcher3 on the XBox1 but my kids tell me since I've not played the other Witcher games I should either read the books or watch the TV show first. They think it will make much more sense to me that way.

It depends on how much you tend to care about the relationships between characters and the backstory of the world.

I had read none of the stories or played the games before I started Witcher 3.
I skimmed the wikipedia page for the plot of the second one because there is a point early in Witcher 3 where you recap the "choices" you made in the previous game and I wanted to chose the options I would have if I had played the game, but that's about it.

The game has a glossary that will add character bios as you meet them that is pretty in depth as well.

There's some crossplay in rocket league, but yeah... Can't really compete on any level without aim assist and larger hit boxes

If you like fantasy and care for story and lore, I say you should listen to your kids.
It will certainly make more sense to start from the beginning and it will be a different experience having familiar names / faces / events appear and be referenced in the games.

However, if you don't want to dive into the Witcher stories, there is a good alternative to approach the game series (Imo).

Watch a recap of Witcher 1 on youtube. Preferably one that explores all factions / decision options because you have to make hard decisions in those games.

Then, I personaly would recommend to play at least the 2nd game. Not just because it's a prequel to W3 but mostly because it's just a great game and some of the decision making is arguably better.

The very least, watch a recap of the previous games if you want to start with W3 right away.

@Ranger Psych do you have pedals that you use? I've been looking for good ones, but I've been having trouble finding any that are reasonably priced. They all seem to be cheap plastic or the software sucks.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is now completely crossplay. I play against console plebs all the time. When you watch the kill cams you can see their aim assist in action. If they didn't have that garbage they would be toast every single time.

ETA: What is really funny is now the console jockeys are accusing every PC player of using an aimbot and "lag switch" to win. I have been in more than a few lobbies where console players whine HARD about playing PC and hacuse like it's payday and the titty bar is half off wings.

RE: Video game lore...I could care less and the both the Witcher series and especially Destiny have some amazing lore to go along with them.

Yawn. I'm there to kill, loot, and craft, but we all have our "things" that we want out of games. The only cool bits of Destiny lore I can remember are Shaxx banging Mara Sov while never removing his helmet and Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars.

Also, thanks to the Destiny 2 LFG Discord, I scored my first Title last night. I am offically a Savior which is cool since I missed out on Undying by one stupid step (the 980 Nightfall clear).

I have saitek ones, but rudder functionality is solved on most joysticks via twist input on the stick. I'm a hoss and don't feel like spending exorbitant amounts of money on ones that would survive my use, because we're talking professional level simulation equipment at that point and while I may have the skill inherent to using the stuff, I don't need the resolution of it.

I was talking specifically about Elite. There. Is. No. Crossplay. Period.

Other than BGS. Your sales of stuff on console will effect the market for a system that I fly in, but a console player couldn't wing with me, couldn't be on my bridge, couldn't run one of my fighters, and I can't do that for them either.

It's only fair, it's not like I have 5 hat switches, 27 switches including bidirectional toggles, 11 different controllable axis, and a 3 position switch which makes 3 different profiles in total for all those controls I mentioned.... and a console pleb has what, 2 thumbsticks, a directional pad, and 8 buttons to work with? And we're not even talking if I bring Voice Attack online for verbal commands triggering control macros "Attack Pattern Omega" etc...

The FF7 Remake demo is out and it’s really good. The animation is great, I really like the battle system, and even the voice acting isn’t too bad.

The battle system is a more active version of the original game’s, but you can move around the 3D space, block, dodge, an even take cover against attacks. It keeps you active in the fight instead of just pushing a few buttons and waiting for attacks to happen.

I'm sure most of you aren't nerd enough like me to watch YT videos about gaming, especially Twitch, but Trials of Osiris is back in Destiny 2. Watching these top 50 or better players form teams and play other teams at that skill level is disgusting.

I watch YT videos, but Twitch? Nahh fam. Used to watch it, but they got crazy with who they banned and didn't.

However, you are correct. Watching some of these pro players play their game.....I can't even.



Side note, if anyone has Call of Duty Modern Warfare... the Warzone mode is a lot of fun. Even if Battle Royale isn't your thing, their take on it is kinda fun. For those that don't know. Once you are killed the first time you go to the Gulag and fight a 1v1. IF you win you're released back to your team. If not then you spectate until your team buys you back in.

The Plunder mode is even more fun. Collect cash throughout the map by loot, killing, camping, doing contracts, and other things. First team to collect a cool mill (and deposit it) wins the game. That mode is super fun and you respawn after a 20sec delay. Highly recommend trying it out. The Warzone mode is free to play. Only negative is if you don't have COD MW, the download for the Warzone (free part) is something like 180GB.
