Gaming thread

I've been practicing "Social Distancing" since that's all the rage right now. Picked up Elite Dangerous, a lot harder to fly on console with a gamepad than it is on PC with M&KB but fell back in love with it immediately.

Also picked up Stellaris for Xbox and god damn what a great game. Do you like 4X? Do you like how absolutely batshit insane your playthrough can get like in Crusader Kings? Have you ever wanted to be a mishmash of Conan and Vikings in Space? Have you ever wanted to be a slaver egalitarian empire with the tagline "Everyone created equal, only sometimes"? If you said yes to any of those go get the game. Do it now.

Also Plunder in Modern Warfare is the best mode to come out since TDM.
Stellaris is one of the best games I have ever played. Dunno about it on the peasant box, but otherwise it is an amazing game. Playthroughs take me at least a week. The first 72hours after I start a game I am absolutely worthless to anyone. Also the new expansion drops tomorrow. Re-worked federation and diplomacy looks lit. This is one game where they truly give it love on a regular basis. The game is absolutely nothing like when it was first released. I have definitely gotten what I paid into the game and more.

I haven't tried them yet, but I understand the mods make the game even better. Some of them are even modeled after Star Wars/Trek and allow you to play as one of the major factions in each IP.

I heard one of the updates more or less completely divided the community and made some of the DLCs less interesting. I've been wanting to get into it, and have a bunch of the DLCs. I'll give it another shot between playing the Forest with some folks at work and Warzone.

Console gets Utopia, Plantoid, and Leviathan DLC. So far my only major gripe is the lack of DLC (looking at you Mega Corp) and that I think some of the data or information you can manage has been dumbed down a little for console. It's still pretty deep especially by peasant box standards, but there's a noticeable difference especially to other Grand Strategy games on PC.

Otherwise I'm loving it, my first empire (think Imperium of Man) I failed pretty hard on and basically forced myself into a no-win scenario. However currently doing a tech focused, democratic egalitarian empire with a robot populace and I'm finding a lot of success with it. Next step right now is to advance the robots and hopefully avoid a Skynet scenario as well as keep following the precursor story line. I was about to continue it but I lost my lvl5 scientist to a derelict anomaly where they came across their own ship and all the crew had killed each other, then the same ship in my timeline proceeded to kill each other and self destruct.

It's definitely a game that once it sinks its teeth in you're stuck and lose all track of time and social obligations. I'm not sure what I'm going to play as my next playthrough though, maybe a technocratic pacifist empire, think Scientology but if they actually went to space and weren't a total meme.

ETA: Best money I've spent on a game since maybe The Witcher or CK2

Picked up Destiny 2 for the peasant box, haven't played since Destiny 1 anything I should know about or that's different now @AWP

#titanlyfeboi

I never played D1, but D2 has undergone some massive changes since the base game became free to play.
1. Embrace the grind.
2. Play the campaign.
3. Embrace the grind.

Currently enjoying myself Shadow Warrior 2.

If you always wanted to be a katana, chainsaw, gun weilding yakuza, ninja, samurai daemon hunter ala DOOM power fantasy, but with great humor and funnny characters, this is the game for you.

Both games are a fun time.

Expect lots of gore and deek jokes.

The Valhallas together again...

Commander's log, 3-31-3320
I struggle to understand how Alice even passed flight school, I think it's due to quota's. 50 attempts and 75% of hull on one of my fighters was expended in her (finally) successful first flight onboard. I'm terrified to actually allow her near the weapon controls with even training munitions.

It should be noted at least 50% (if not more) of the hull loss was from him shooting me...

see, now something like this could turn into a funny blog/cartoon series with the two of you. Think about it. I'd sub.

Activision put out the mw2 campaign remaster yesterday in the PlayStation store. Havent played it in a long time can’t wait to once again fight atop burger town. #Wolverines

Hahaha my next question was going to be “What is up with that damn game?”

Still selling space ships that you can't actually doing anything, for prices that will buy you top tier video cards all the way to used late model diesel pickup trucks (not even kidding, if you are whale mode on their store they have a "deal" for like 20k to buy all the everything.)
