Nice. I went with RDR2 for my first one, I really appreciate all the input. I loved the Witcher HBO series (or whatever it was on) so that’s intriguing too.

I hope you have a great time with it! It will feel like ‘forever’ before you get off the mountain and into Chapter 2, I’m literally into my 5th play through of it right now and I”ve stayed in Chapter 2 for quite a while. A ton of things you can do/collect to get a better feel for the game before you get out of Chapter 2…eleventy-billion websites dedicated to ‘what to do first’ so I won’t waste your time unless you ask, but…one tip I recommend is when you get into 2, hop a couple of trains and let them circle the map for you…opens up a lot more to see.
Have fun, and if you don’t know how it ends, avoid spoilers if you can.

PC owners (I don't know if this applies to consoles or not because...I am the PC Master Race), but Red Dead Redemption 2 is on sale for 67% off the base version and 70% for the Ultimate bundle. Steam seasonal sales are usually 50% for this title.
No lie, I'm buying this even though Destiny's seasonal content just dropped and Diablo 4 is dropping in a week or two.
The sale runs through 6/15. Steam's Summer Sale drops on 6/29 so play the odds accordingly.

Chatting with my D2 clan in Discord (I DO NOT POST CLASSIFIED MATERIAL) I realized this summer is an absolute banger for game releases.
Legend of Zelda, Diablo4, Final Fantasy whatever, Company of Heroes (Did it drop already?), Street Fighter, a new Baldur's Gate... and this is on top of whatever you'readdicted to playing like me plus dozens of other titles.
Then you have Steam's summer sale, whatever Epic is doing, and I'm sure the console folks will have a massive sale.

L O L… Here are a few tricks.
- I hit the L3 circle button occasionally to say “good girl“ give it praise. It helps build up loyalty and keeps it calm.
- once you start moving, just hold the X button down and you should continue on at about the same speed. I rarely “sprint“
- Keep an eye on it stats, you need to feed it occasionally and groom it.
- When you get off, try to find a place to “hitch“. It build stamina while it is hitched.
If you are still in the mountains and not out of the snow, yet, stick with it, I hate that part. Once you get to chapter 2, you can pretty much do whatever the fuck you want. I think this is my fifth Playthru, and I’ve been in chapter 2 for about the last three weeks. I’ve got most of the map opened up and a shit ton of side missions done.
