Super Sweet Movie Discussion Thread

Saw Coppola’s most recent re-mastered version of The Godfather in a theater the other night; they got it right. The shadows, the shadows were jet black, cold. It is amazing how good of a job that film does in building suspense just with shadows and color.

The Godfather trilogy (well, 1 & 2) are some of my favorite movies.

YAY!! More Viking stuff!!
Just so long as it's not this Viking stuff:

That shit is depressing.

I gotta natural aversion to Nick Cage movies as a general rule. I also--at least in recent years--try to avoid Samuel L. Jackson, George Clooney, Matt Damon, John Goodman, Ben Affleck, Sean fucking Penn, Meryl Streep, Robert Redford, Hanoi Jane, Bendadick Cumabatch, any movie where James Franco is trying to be serious, Morgan Freeman, Robert DeNiro, Sylvester Stallone, Whoopie Goldberg and I'm on the fence with Tom Cruise.

All IMO either waay over exposed or has-beens or too freaking political.

So what you're really saying is, you don't watch a lot of movies. 😀

Anya Taylor-Joy...had never heard of her, but now I'm in love.

That aside, The Northman was fantastic. It was visually stunning, aside from some of the darker scenes, but that could be the projector since everyone seems to be digital nowadays. Kidman's performance was masterful.

I don't want to spoil it, so I can't speak of the film much, just that it didn't disappoint. Plenty of blood and gore as well as some interludes with the Seer.

Oh, you better like Alexander Skarsgård, this is his film. He is truly the Viking Berserker you imagine.

Worth seeing indeed.
