Super Sweet Movie Discussion Thread

I just watched Knives Out and really enjoyed it. 8-)

Have you seen The Glass Onion? It's the next one in the Daniel Craig whodunit franchise. Not quite as good as Knives Out...but entertaining nonetheless.

Next goal wins, with Michael Fassbender, nice little feel good movie, based on a true story of the American Samoa football team, once beaten 31-0 by Australia.

After seeing Fassbender in Inglorious Basterds, Prometheus, Alien Covenant and MacBeth I'm a dedicated fan. Plus he drives the European Le Mans series.

Neg....but I've been looking for it since I saw alot of you recommended it. I'll keep looking and update. I really like the all star cast they put together...especially the Poker Face girl. 8-)

Saw the movie, Napoleon. Ridley Scott will always gets the benefit of the doubt with me, but this was Joaquin Phoenix in a funny hat, a script that dumbed-down history, gave us Josephine hiking up her dress to show Nappy the magic puss...and skimmed through the highlights of his rise and reign like a series of elaborate CGI flashcards. Having said that, visually some pretty cool battle scenes.

Now, truth be told, I like boobs just as much as any man and Vanessa Kirby looked pretty good in a low-cut--really low cut--Empire dress; but let's face it: the movie was shot in its entirety in 62 days. That's two months on an epic about a dude who did more crazy world-changing shit in his 51 years than...well, just about anybody.

I can say this honestly. Napoleon Dynamite was far more entertaining.

I thought we were talking about one movie...

UNCLE RICO: How much do you want to bet I can throw this football over the Austrian muountains ??

NAPOLEON BONAPARTE: Mountains? Well among mountains, there are everywhere numerous positions extremely strong by nature - which we should abstain from attacking...
...jeez

UNCLE RICO: Napoleon, it looks like you don't even have a job, so why don't you get out there and feed Tina

NAPOLEON BONAPARTE: Well, if you want a thing done well; do it yourself...
...idiot

...or I may have it confused with that Rocky movie where Rex Knowdo and Klubber Lang join a fight club - who can tell

The Stranger on Netflix. The guy who wrote Fool Me Once has an 11 billion series or something deal with Netflix; currently he has 4 or 5 of them available. We watched The Stranger based on the Netflix description and to see if Harlan Corben is kind of a one hit wonder.

He's not.

Solid casting, great premise, and very good writing. He even ties up some subplots and relates them to the main story even if it at the end; everything plays a role. The end has a twist, so I think that might be his "thing" in storytelling, but we'll find out. 8 episodes, very binge worthy because it, like Fool Me Once, ends every episode with a hook or cliffhanger.

4 out of 5 cell phones.
