The Trump Presidency 2.0

"Caught" or "set" on fire?

Also...

We had a power outage, lights go out for a second or so while the backup gennies kick in. Cool. Network connectivity? How cute. Then the fire alarm goes off, but only the strobes and thankfully nothing from the sprinklers in my area. Go outside, stand in the sun, and watch fire truck after fire truck stream into the base. After almost 2 hours they told us to go inside, grab our stuff, and go home. Bonus points: we're waiting to hear if we go in tomorrow.

Looking forward to what happens this summer when our temperamental a/c units start acting up.

Look at the bright side, at least your building has a fire alarm. One of my buildings has canned air horns hanging on the walls in the hall way. In the event of a real fire, someone has to sacrifice themselves to alert others. lulz.

A/C is for the equipment, not you. lol

Apparently (yes, I know this so please shut up) 3 phase power and 2 phase power aren't the same and the local power provider assures us this won't happen again.

Back in the office tomorrow. That ATO won't submit itself.

Well - way more folks at my place of business put in their deferred quitting notices than were expected...
...enough that we could probably even hire a few folks under that 4-to-1 rule

Does that seem to be mostly peeps that will reach/are past retirement?

That's one of the trends I've been seeing. Our other trend is WG staff like entry level mechanics, maintenance, and security.

Dang, Doge was so effective that even Politico is writing self-reflective articles :-o

"Many in Washington bristled at the public’s failure to register how strong the economy really was. They charged that right-wing echo chambers were conning voters into believing entirely preposterous narratives about America’s decline."

"And then I began to detect a second pattern inside and outside D.C. alike. Democrats, on the whole, seemed much more inclined to believe what the economic indicators reported. Republicans, by contrast, seemed more inclined to believe what they were seeing with their own two eyes."

"What we uncovered shocked us. The bottom line is that, for 20 years or more, including the months prior to the election, voter perception was more reflective of reality than the incumbent statistics."

No shit, Sherlock....

I have said this for years, as have millions of people: the professional politician class is siloed and insulated from the real world. They believe what they read, the media, the millions of reports and briefing, written by people who engage in groupthink and confirmation bias.
