This man does NOT like Jocko...

I know him, have taken some classes. He lives about 50 miles away, and his training is really very top-notch and innovative.

That said. He's gone all-in weird with BJJ. It's a great sport, but he's gotten pathological, treating it like some mystic art.
He's out. Retired. Classes feels like work most likely, not enough of a routine or purpose. I suspect BJJ is his silent form of PTSD therapy and also a newfound purpose for himself.

He has a cult-like following. He's accessible. Unlike Pat McNamara (with whom I have also trained, and I also like), or even Vickers, who are stand-offish. McPhee is personable and responsive. He also has some blind spots; but then, don't we all?

So um, since this thread is kinda like a Stolen Valor thread. As I have played this sport, and I work in this sport. I can tell you 80 tackles can't happen by an individual. 30 is possible. Our tackles leader in MLR this year had 27 in a match a few times. But a Median tackle rate for a high workrate player in 15-18.

So, Shrek, where you at?

The Anti Hero guys mentioned him as a possible future topic. One of the hosts is a retired Delta guy. Assaulter, sniper, recce, etc. The one topic about Shrek they briefly mentioned was his account of singleton missions, but that was it and they moved on.

I don't know the Delta guy, but he is a A/3/20 alumni. His senior Echo on their ODA was in our SIGDET for a few months right out of the Q Course. It's funny to hear him mention a few names I recognize, but again, I don't know the guy.

To draw a comparison; this is the same shit Kennedy did.

Started building a following off of their SF/SOF stories, which greatly ballooned into this superhero COD bullshit.

I believe Shrek and his "zero" story in the Q, or his PT stories during unit selection.

This recent shit about him killing hundreds of taliban in a day during Tora Bora? The rugby story you highlighted?

Shit reeks.

I can believe someone threw 50 grenades if they were in a defending position, but that's a shit moment possibly gonna be dead moment. 80 tackles though? Not believable. I can get down with some hyperbole like 25 tackles/game in a beer league setting a beer league record...but this?

My old French professor's story about losing his rolex in Vietnam is significantly more believable...

Man, I guess we better get into a new war soon... Especially if the best we can do is start head hunting a bunch of SEALs, Green Beret's and D-boys in our off time...20 years after the fact.🙄

Some of this "be exact to the very closest fact" bullshit is exactly that...bullshit. Story's get bigger and longer as you gain age, that 20lbs bass I caught 30 years ago, was before social media... So I'm good 👍

Seeing that you're infantry, everyone would believe you if you bragged about taking a 400lb whale home from the bar. No proof required. 😉

I too was once an 11B, BTDT.

I came in second, almost won the pool (IYKYK). The next morning when I had realized what I had done because I was sober, I rolled over, saw her and shivered because dang she was fatty fat. She must have thought I was cold so she pulled me closer. Not my best adventure ever from the bar of bad ideas outside of Camp Edwards, MA.

Nope, definitely was not.
