Ukraine - Russia Conflict

What did y'all buy? 20 pre-production test models with 30k flights hours each?
We were part of the development and procurement was for 65 originally that Trudeau canceled.

Then secretly ther was an order for 17 but only after Trudeau had to eat crow. But that doesn't even replace our current falling apart fleet of F-18's.

Defence Department gets OK to spend $7 billion on 16 F-35 fighter jets: CP sources

The new purchase is for 88 but we're not getting any until 2026 and those will be trainers.

If we're selling Taiwan 66 F-16's because China, we should be selling 200 F-somethings to several countries in Europe because Russia.

Sneaky aircraft def have their place. Has everybody seen the new Top Gun?

Because it has to.

The F-15EX is a pretty big step up from the original F-15E's, the same with the F-16V compared to the F-16C. Depending upon your sources, both are running about 20 million-ish dollars less per copy than the F-35A with a lower cost per flight hour than the F-35A. Maintenance isn't as intensive and it takes less time to spin up -15/-16 maintainers than -35 folks. The F-15EX is a bomb truck, I'd have to look up the loadout differences between it and the -35, but it is massive.

So, you need aircraft, better aircraft than what you have, and the -35 is more costly and in some respects less capable than a modernized 4th gen fighter.

This whole F-35 debacle, that's what it is, has forced the Navy and AF to rethink their Wing compositions. A few years ago the Navy claimed the entire FA-18E/F force would be gone by 2035. That's not happening, though the last F-18 will roll off the line in 2025.

Everyone knows 6th gen a/c are being tested, 5th gen is running way over budget which drives down acquisition numbers, so you need something to bridge the gap until the 6th gen stuff comes online. Upgrades and service life extensions are the only way to make that happen.

Sure, but the point was that the AF needed to plan to keep the F-22 line alive. A way to drive down acquisition cost is ordering more. Maybe it's just luck that the M1 Abrams and AH-64 lines remain open.

One bit of irony, Canada will actually get better F-35's by waiting. LM is going to charge 8l

SecDef Gates killed the F-22 during the Obama regime. One CSAF was fired, and his replacement almost fired over the F-22.

The reason for taking the Crimea, a warm water port w/ strategic significance, is irrelevant when your fleet is sunk and the facilities under constant attack.

The defensive capabilities of the vaunted Black Sea Fleet against the poorest country in Europe (albeit with munitions supplied by some of the richest), seem embarrassingly inadequate.

Between this and the logistical shit show in the early stages and the failure of Russia, in two years, to get further west than Bakhmut—they’re still stuck in that Eastern crescent—makes me think that the term “near peer” when applied to Russia is a freaking joke.

"We demand explanations from Germany," Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson, told TASS, the Russian state news agency. "Any attempts to evade answering questions will be viewed as an admission of guilt."

The audacity to call anyone out in a situation where you are the attacking murderhobo who is receiving and deploying drones and ballistic missiles from their allies, against civilian and critical infrastructure all over the invaded country. Classic. What's next, sue Ukraine for resisting ?

Pentagon leak suspect Jack Teixeira indicted by federal grand jury

Teixeira, 21, of North Dighton, Massachusetts, faces six counts in the indictment of willful retention and transmission of national defenseinformation.

He was arrested on April 13 on charges of sharing highly classified military documents about Russia's war in Ukraine and other top national security issues in a chat room on Discord, a social media platform that started as a hangout for gamers.
Remember this little twat…

Pentagon leaker Jack Teixeira agrees to accept 16-year prison sentence

Neat video, from the German perspective. The Germans want US forces to come to the rescue and want to know why the Americans aren't giving more money. Ben Hodges, the "American", basically says Orange Man Bad and that the UN needs to come together.

Turns out most of the Ukrainian armed forced are over the age of 40, cause most of their young people have fled. That there is no concrete foreign policy from either side. The German govt is cucked and Europe bitches out when Putin mentions nukes.

If anything this makes me despise the Euro's. Their neighbors are being slaughtered by Ivan and they're expecting the cavalry to some in. The only people worth a shit are the Brits and handful of other nations doing their part.

Does anyone remember a recent study that showed a LARGE percentage of Americas youth from that same demographic would refuse to "fight back" in the manner of the same Ukrainians that we need to pat to fight for them selves.

It doesn't matter how old the force is if they aren't willing to defend their homeland. We have a legion of septuagenarians that have spent decades indoctrinating pop-culture to embrace the idea their nation is not worth fighting for...
...and here we are.

Hey Box, you got a good idea who these septuagenarians are? Cause if I say it, I'm liable to get called some sort of right wing extremist.

Well - according to Wikipedia - there have been 64 members of congress (9 of them STILL IN OFFICE) that spent over 40 years indoctrinating their constituents. Hell, we even have enough octogenarians fucking things up that we might have a hard time fitting them all into a single big-top clown car.

Indoctrination has no party preference - Robert Byrd or Chuck Grassley - John McCain or Dianne Feinstein - Joe Biden or Donald Trump - some are definitely worse than others but from my observation point, the democrats certainly seem to have the market cornered on encouraging young people to hate America and her capitalistic, bigoted colonialism.
Republicans are no better because all they do is talk about how bad things are while doing NOTHING to discourage people from their lack of faith in the system. Both fucking political parties rely on "the flag" as nothing more than a stage prop - the democrats burn it and the republicans use it to blind fold their constituency while they are butt fucking them.

Ukraine, right wing extremism, Israel, Climate Change, Taiwan, COVID - and lord only knows what the next "existential threat" our lords and masters will tell us are the single biggest threat to democracy - are little more than a pile of rotting corpses riddled with maggots - with most of the establishment republicans trying to cheer that corpse to victory...
...left or right doesn't matter when the real threat is the uni-party.

As long as they continue to be voted back into their office, decade after decade, shit shows like Ukraine will continue define us and our offspring - decade after decade.

Neat video my ass! You should have put a trigger waring on that damn thing... Holy shit there's a lot to unpack there.

I only watched the first 11 mins. The number of times this cock sucker mentions the U.S. is bonkers. Now that I know we basically provide all the major logistics for NATO and Europe, and this clown is acting like we owe it to them. Already forgot how things came to this point huh?

Just another European war we got dragged into. I was in Germany in August 2022. The Ukraine war and Russian aggression def had an impact on Germany. Of course there's the price of gas and fuel, but food and services were affected also. It's a shame, because Germany really is a beautiful, peaceful place.

Here's a suggestion for the Pea'ns from Armchair Gen. BSR: You want bad Russia to go away, but don't want to commit troops. Why don't you save up some Euros and buy some of these high tech U.S. weapons you talk about so highly and send them to Ukraine on your own? If that doesn't work, you could always convert some BMW and VW factories to make some German precision weapons to give to them? Not like something like that's never been done before, amiright?
