Back in 2016, the DNC was basically broke, turn out the lights broke. Hillary had people lined up to write some really big checks to her campaign, but laws prevented that sort of thing. So, what they did was the donors sent the money to the DNC, the DNC kept a portion to remain afloat, and then sent the money to Clinton's campaign. What they did was exploit a loophole in campaign finance laws. An added bonus is the donations remained anonymous.

Wasserman-Schultz is punted on the eve of the convention and Donna Brazile took over. Brazile worked for Bill Clinton's election campaigns. In 2016, Brazile worked at CNN where she provided Hillary with debate and town hall questions ahead of time. Brazile was concurrently the head of the DNC and a talking head at CNN until she was fired from CNN in Oct. 2016. There's no way she didn't know about the laundering for Clinton.

So in 2024 we have a woman who sat on both the DNC's finance committee and was Harris' chief fundraiser. Harris' campaign is...20 million or something in debt? I can think of at least one bank account which has at least 20 million in it, because history has shown us that's how the DNC rolls.

The current head of the DNC's finances is a guy who worked for Miami Beach as a city attorney. In the early 80's. When drug money ruled Miami. I'm not saying money laundering is going on there, but...

I'm decent at excel, but not an accountant. I do other projections with it in my day job. But I'm trying to understand how Kamala spent 500M on staffing and Trump spent $11M on staffing...so everyone who talks about how people just didn't show out for Trump, they just stayed home instead of voting for Kamala. She outspent Trump on staffing by 45x...but does that include Oprah's fee? Beyonce's fee? J Lo's fee? Cardi B's fee? Does that include the bus company bill for shipping paid rally attendees?

Because none of those people she paid for endorsements did anything, they didn't go into communities and stump and work the crowds.

People are trying to say this was a loss for Kamala, but if you look at the Republican party, it was pretty united except for like Romney and the McCains. Vivek was out there stumping, hitting podcasts, De Santis was doing gangster shit in Florida etc.

But remember, Kamala went on Call her Daddy, a space where she wouldn't reach who she needed to. Call her Daddy is a sex podcast, I didn't listen to it, but my assumption is they talked about Kamala's promiscuity? Diddy parties? what did they talk about haha.

Anyway, this thing was won on the issues, not personality. And we have some smart people on this board who voted based on personality it seems unfortunate. Or they're polar opposite on the issues that most Americans care about. They align with the elites...well the elite don't win you elections.

ETA: Back to Kamala's finances, how in the world do you spend $30M with Gusto? Did they contract out the HR to them, not just payroll? Event at a 500M staff payroll that seems excessive.

Here’s a fun question I don’t even need a Instagram post for- can someone explain how Kamala won *only states* that don’t require voter id (nearly all of them)? And she won *zero states* that require voter id?

I really thought Megan Thee Stallion and Queen Bey would have swayed some voters (and all the cash). Anyway here’s wonderwall.

Yup. I saw that the other day. Biden announces on July 21 and that Lindy Li earlier stated the total cost was 1.18 billion. I saw 300 million a month kicked around earlier, so...yeah.

ETA: The campaign cost the equivalent of a squadron of F-35's.

No disinformation here man, just asking for people to actually provide more than fake A.I. videos and instagram posts as examples of "truth".

Maybe we should all understand not to just believe everything we see posted because we agree with it?

IDK man, I think Elon, Vivek, Thiel, etc also qualify as elites.
Might be more accurate to say we've learned "cultural elites"(ew) don't beat "economic/tech elites".

I'm calling a bunch of veteran friends tomorrow. Some who I know are hurting because of the election, some who I know are ecstatic about the results. But they're all still my friends, and they're all still fellow vets.

Also, who do I need to call to get a job in this new administration? I'm quite good at mediocrity, which given my interactions with .gov seems to more or less be a pre-requisite ;)

Or learn to learn that after room reading that we all already know to question things without better proof? I know for a fact that I have asked if something could be proven and that others in here have done the same.

And FYI, Kari was a much better choice than the idiot she ran against.
 
Many of my more liberal-leaning friends were in an uproar about Harris's loss, calling everyone who voted for Trump a fascist, a racist, a woman-hater, transphobic, and every other "-phobic" they could name. "Enjoy your dictatorship. You're an idiot if you voted for him. Ignorant." I just laughed at them and told them, "You guys speak about fascism, and look how you're acting. Look at your behavior. You're being way to shallow in your reasoning. You are a democrat and a liberal one based on what I've read from your positions. That's ok, but your comment betrays you a bit. Taylor Swift may have voted for Kamala, she may have taken 30 Mill for the instagram post, but you know what Taylor didn't do? She didn't hold her own rallies in her home state of Pennsylvania or in her current state of Tennessee in support of Kamala. She didn't use her tour platform to talk about Kamala either.

Elon and Vivek? They went on the stump. There is a huge difference here. None of those people that Kamala had behind her put their livelihood on the line, none of them actually believed in their positions enough to sacrifice a single dollar. '

Plenty of Tech elites supported the Democrats. Although I've been saying these things for days, maybe you don't see me as an authority (I'm not). But what I'm saying is exactly what Manchin's chief of staff told the WaPo:

We're in a place where celebrity endorsements and newspaper endorsement are becoming negative motivators...especially when that endorsement is from Pravda or that celebrity just sits at home and doesn't put their money and time on the line.
