CEO of UnitedHealthcare gunned down

Gunman still at large, homemade can anyone?

Who was the deceased whom was murdered?
Yep, shooter has not been arrested or identified. Fled down an alley on foot, then hopped an ebike, and disappeared into Central Park.

He executed CEO of UnitedHealthcare - see story a couple posts up

I probably should have asked why he was targeted, I thought I had insinuated but that's on me for not enunciating so my apologies. Past history? Donor to Dems? Donor to R's? Harris owed him money? Had dirt on the Bidens? Dirt on Trump? Enemy of Trump?

Might not even be political like that.

Seems they were involved in a number of lawsuits regarding Illegally denying care.
Possible reasoning there too.
Video makes it look like maybe the pistol had a silencer? That was no street punk.

Looks like it. Also look liked the shooter was aware there were function issues, as he immediately goes to rerack.

He knew how to clear stoppages very smoothly like anyone at the end of a good handgun class now can, that's for sure. Glad it wasn't just me who noticed how he was able to do it on reflex without thinking it.
Over analyzing and overthinking now cause that’s what we do, but if he was a “professional“ you would think he would have that pistol dialed in to not have stoppages at a time like that. Obviously he knew what to do, but if I didn’t know better, I would say it was the first time he shot that pistol.

Could be any of those. Could be nothing more than he's having an affair, or his wife is and her lover wanted him gone, or a guy in the fantasy football league was annoyed at him.

Regarding the gun and the stoppage, seems to me if you are going to use a suppressor, your suppressor host would be, um, reliable.

I’m just jumping on the peloton for a bit, but once I’m done I think I’m going to merge this into a separate thread. This has a potential to be discussed in more detail than what should be segregated to a “random thoughts thread“.

Whatever the case, the shooter knew his target would come out of the hotel at 6:44 AM. In others words, he had the dope.

The wife speculates a lack-of-coverage motive and says there'd been threats. Because she's seen them, I'd go with that. However, never discount disgruntled employee or deep state conspiracy fueled by hysterical Trump-hatred and--as @Steve1839 --succinctly points out: Fucking Hillary.

Yeah, saw the wife's comments... would be convenient for a woman scorned too, wouldn't it? 🤔

So… I was discussing this video with a person who should probably be a member here, but is still active and does not want to out himself.

He believes that the gunman was not fixing a malfunction, but instead was manually cycling the ammo because he was using ammo designed to not rack the slide; purpose being him able to recover the brass before it hit the ground.

Things that I would never consider, and that make me go “hmmm”

This shit is right out of a movie.

My initial thought was the sub loads just wouldn't cycle, but I didn't think of the brass aspect. It was clearly a hit, but who knows what the experience level of the dude really was. It's 2024 and it's hard to beat technology if the feds care enough.

But we still don’t know who left the bag of coke in the WH, who the SCOTUS leaker was, or who killed Epstein... just sayin'.

That is an interesting thought.

So, I watched the video again. Will be curious to hear if shell casings were at the scene. Not my area of expertise, but it doesn't look like he's collecting brass.
At the same time, resolution is too poor to see if the cartridges are ejecting. Still looks like a failure to cycle/underpressure - maybe intentionally? It's interesting as hell though.

The fact the shooter knew he'd be on the side walk at that time has to be one of the biggest clues. Who knew his schedule and routines?
