Gaming thread

I bought a 144hz, 1440p, G-Sync monitor a few months ago... shit is so cash.

Anyone still playing R6 Siege on PC?

@Rapid I play siege regularly, also has anyone seen WW3? Looks like it might take over Battlefield with bullet mechanics.

For those of you interested in a serious and true MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) game, EVE Online is the way to go. You can do a google search for EVE stories and you will see some very cool things done within the game. Here is a video that was put together by the creators that uses player driven content:

Only game that I know of that has that large of a "scale", not to mention the amount of real world money people invest into this game yet can lose everything in literally an instant.

Goonswarm Federation did nothing wrong

What, you're playing EVE now? Dear lord.

Don't make me break out my carrier's and dreadnaught's.

now??? lol I've had a character since 2003. Just got back into it in the Alpha state to see how it goes and if it is worth getting back into on a more permanent basis. I do miss the game.

I miss what it used to be back in the early 2000's. It changed around '06-07 and started to suck, too many players who just wanted to wreck everything. They'd think nothing of instapopping you in high sec just to rack up a Concord cred. This was around the time they started really advertising it on TV and online though so it got flooded.

I disagree, I think the game evolved as intended. Where as in other MMOs you become a spacebar captain (STO), EO forces you to learn, adapt, and to actually think. I love that there is a counter to everything in the game. It truly allows players to dictate the course of the game in ways that no other game has ever been able to. For the most part, CCP stays out of the game and lets the ingame economy, culture, and drama unfold naturally. I mean hell, as of last report, the game employs at least 5 real world economists to oversee the ingame economy.

I don't see it as players trying to wreck the game, I see it as people playing a role they want to play. If there is a large group wanting to harass others, then the game allows for good players to band together and stop the jerks. Granted, it is difficult and rarely done, but can't the same be said for our world today? To me, the game allows us to fulfill whatever role we desire with little consequence, other than rage quitting lol.

At least now, you don't lose skill points when you die, just gear, implants, and ships. The skill loss should have never been implemented, as time is the one commodity we can never get back.

I stopped playing a few years ago when it didn't become fun anymore (the skill point loss is a case in point and holy hell the clone prices!). It may have just been the area we were in but within a week it went from a few hundred people in the local 3 jumps to thousands. Server lags leading to ship losses, griefers, and just overall mass fuckery. Heck you couldn't even mine in peace anymore, I had to go to null sec to get some quiet...lol I'm glad it seems to have settled down but for awhile it just seemed too chaotic (which at times can be fun) with all the new trial people not understanding/not caring how it works. I had spent lots of time (and money on the subs) to get to where Alice was and had it destroyed more than once by an idiot who wanted to see Concord (as declared in local chat).

Speaking of BF 🤤

I like the BF games because in campaign mode you can play each level a number of different ways...you don't have to follow a rigid sequence. I just finished COD Infinite Warfare (which I only bought because I wanted the original COD MW upgrade) and got tired of the plot hijacks.

I want to kill Nazis, Jihadists, VC, and other "real" virtual dudes not aliens because...guess what...there are no aliens. And the only reason aliens are offered up as game fodder is because killing them doesn't offend anybody.

Then play Doom and Wolfenstein.

Lol, Doom! The trailer for Doom Eternal was too funny. "Remember: Demon is an offensive term, refer to them as mortally challenged.":ROFLMAO:

If anyone ever wants to kill an hour, NOCLIP has an episode that focuses on the Doom franchise. There are also some pretty neat documentaries on some other pretty neat games and their developers.

Then play Doom and Wolfenstein.

My god, the hours upon hours I played Doom and Wolfenstein. It’s been so long, but do I remember that the primary controllers were the arrow directional keys on the keyboard and the ‘space bar’ to fire?
