Military Misconduct

Florida drivers make CA drivers tame in comparisons. Also I have never seen more cars pulled over in one stretch of a highway and all at different spots, at any given time over in Florida than any other state.

He was in a rotten mood and pissed off at comm problems…and when the loadmaster asked him to take a seat and fasten his seatbelt, he shoved the guy away. Temper temper.
unacceptable, AC is in charge of the plane and the Load owns the cargo compartment.
He'll be lucky to stay in Tampa until next July.
I won't be surprised to see him retire sooner.

I give the AF tons of shit, but also recognize that E-3 in the back of the bus has power and authority...as well they should. When contracting with the AF, I would fuck with anyone except aircrew around their planes. I'm kind of a dick but I checked myself on the flightline. I hope they bury this guy regardless of his rank or CV. Aircrew, their plane, and the flightline are sacrosanct.

I flew aboard the USS Eisenhower on a C2, and I remember having watched a video, you can still find it on YouTube, of a C2 or some carrier delivery plane, in which after takeoff the load shifted too far aft and you could see the aircraft slide tail down straight into the sea, no survivors. You can bet I cut my mouth shut and paid attention to the safety briefings.

IIRC, they were improperly chained and on takeoff one rolled back and damaged the mechanism that controls the horizontal stab. I think the aft CG shift doomed them, but the inability to control pitch definitely caused the crash.

What you can't see in that video is the entire Air Force SATCOM shop (3 contractors) returning from a PX run to the west side of Bagram. There was a bus in front of them which started to stop, but then gunned it and they followed suit instead of passing the bus. The 747 crashed short of the road seen in the video, but the burning fuel would cross that road and splash on the b-huts used by the workers who ran the base incinerators. Mike, Bobby, and (I've forgotten the last guy's name) would have caught that wave of burning fuel had they not redlined their Hilux out of dodge.

There were media reports of them calling out a mayday and saying the load shifted...never happened. I was a radio maintainer for the ATC tower at Bagram and one of the devices in my inventory was the computer that recorded all of the ATC transmissions (tower, approach, and ground). I pulled the tapes and the pilots didn't say anything except to roger the tower's clearance to take off.

The audio transcript is at the end. Page 13 shows you how close it came to the road and the incinerators.

GEN Hamilton has been fired.

As a refresher, he's the one who meddled in getting an O5 he was friend's with onto the Command list.

She was bottom 1% on her first look and failed the second, but still managed to get on the list because he went and repetitioned for her.
I have a lot of thoughts about this one. One of my last assignments was at a duty station where he was also stationed. He was well known for his "mentoring," which to me looked a lot like outright favoritism. I know of one particular officer he mentored and helped get a very senior position for which she was grossly unsuited and was ultimately removed from short of a normal tour length. But the damage was done.

I'm glad to see he got shitcanned over this. There needs to be more investigation into who else he "mentored" and the carnage that it caused.

I'm still trying to figure out how he got caught, then I'm trying to figure out how DAIG didn't sweep this under the rug. Because as a 4 Star, he's essentially protected. So who did he piss off? This guy is a tribal leader, gonna be so many officers out there that will need to realign...
