Super Sweet Movie Discussion Thread

Looking forward to Hunter Killer with Gerard Butler and Gary Oldman...hoping it's not stupid. About time for another good sub movie.

Hostiles (2017)-Christian Bale plays an extremely conflicted man hardened by years on the Frontier during the Indian Wars. Sent on a final mission before he musters out of the Army and it's a rough one.

It was pretty intense. A cameo from our man Magua as Chief Yellow Hawk.

I saw Halloween last week it had some funny moments and a few jump scares. Wasn't expecting much but it was mostly ehh. I would have enjoyed it better if the people in the theater would have shut up and I had a few beers before hand 🤷🏽‍♂️

I remember seeing the previews for that one, I wanted to see it, but don't recall it being out in the cinema.

I caught First Man (complete with American flag on the moon, I thought that wasn't happening?) A star is born and Venom last week.
All good, I'm a bit of a space nerd, so first man was awesome. I can't understand why Lady Gaga dresses up when she goes alright as a normal human, good film too at any rate, there were women bawling all over the cinema. And I like Tom Hardy in everything, Venom took a while to warm up, but it all came together towards the end. I'm assuming he'll be back for another couple of movies, depending on how this one paid off at the box office.

DO NOT watch Submergence...seriously geigh. Watched about 10 minutes🙄. Wish had those 10 back.

I watched Kill Bill for the umpteenth time tonight and am always mesmerized by the absolute beauty and perfection of this scene. Throw it on 'full screen' and enjoy the artwork that went into it.

Edited to remove any political discussion from the movie thread.

have conservative friends who 'boycott' movies based on the politics of those making the movies. What a shame....
I'm sure that happens on both sides. I don't necessarily boycott movies, but I just find it hard to watch an actor who has proven themselves be a complete douchebag.

Okay cool.

Let me get ahead of this before the movie thread turns into something other than a movie thread....which I promise was not my intent.

Editing my post.

I remember first watching the Kill Bill movies and only liking the first, but overtime and as I've rewatched them I think the second has taken over as my favorite of the two.

The cinematography in this scene is awesome!

Been a while, I watched The Good Shepherd again tonight. This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie, wait for the last line:

...I watched Kill Bill for the umpteenth time tonight...

My boys and I trade quotes from KB 1 & 2 all the time. My sig line on SS is a quote from Texas Ranger Earl McGraw (Michael Parks) when he walks into the wedding massacre scene.

Tarantino's lost me recently with Hateful 8 and Django...but KB 1 & 2, along with Inglorious Basterds are his best movies IMV.

Agreed 100%. I can usually get past the politics of the actors/directors I am watching, but when they try to turn my entertainment into social messages, I’m out.

I thought Django was great. We quote it at work constantly.

Django had it's moments but to me it was inglorious basterds with southern white people and the Confederacy as the Nazis.
