Super Sweet Movie Discussion Thread

I'll watch the shit out of a good fighter pilot movie... the last good fighter pilot movie we had was....Top Gun? The last fighter pilot movie was Stealth?? Ugh.

I've been this close to starting a thread where we can bitch about war/ tactical type movie inaccuracies.

Tears of the Sun. Behind hostile lines. No rucks, yet they conduct an entire op. and spend ammo like like its being dumped out of a resupply helicopter, for instance.

Perhaps I was asleep for most of the movie. :-/
Bruce Willis's M68 was on backwards in that movie.

Updated American Assassin Preview....

As a Vince Flynn/Mitch Rapp fan I am already concerned that they've changed his backstory from losing his girlfriend in the Pan Am flight 103 bombing in 1988, to losing her to AK wielding terrorists on a beach....but I am guessing they did that so that they could use modern technology. I'll give them that one.

Hate because this barely resembles what Vince Flynn wrote. Mitch Rapp didn't have a bunch of disciplinary issues as a teenager. Also, the actor playing him looks like a fucking pussy.

You should hear what the community has to say about the advisor for the Hurt Locker. :-"
Hurt Locker was a joke on every level. The main character was portrayed as an undisciplined, yet skilled, rule breaker who rolled solo-cholo through Iraq as he saw fit to blow IEDs, fight sniper duels, and clear houses by himself. Also I love how he pulled up four 155mm artillery shell IEDs by the det cord. For no particular reason other than to show off his front deltoid strength. Seems legit.

They should pay us big us the big bucks to be advisors so this stupid shit doesn't happen;-)

I could just see that argument unfolding. Me "Mr Holywood that ain't how shit happens, this whole script is a bunch of bullshit". Him "This script is based off of the true accounts of Pvt Snuffy, of the 182nd Airborne Transportation Division". Me- tossing up my hands and walking away shaking my head.

Yeah I think I'll let candy land be candy land, besides it's makes it easier to snuff out people's bullshit stories.

"There I was cut off and alone, scared for my life, with nothing more than my wits and an M16 to get me through".

Saw "War Machine", the fictional biopic about Stan McChyrstal, last night on Netflix. It was merely okay. I couldn't tell if Brad Pitt was trying to give us a sympathetic character or a total clown. Hell, I don't think the movie knew what kind of story it wanted to tell.

Thanks for the review. I saw the ad on Netflix, but wasn't sure if it would be worth watching. Now I know that it's not.
