Target drops DEI programs….

Today they were disinvited from the annual Minneapolis Gay Pride parade. Target HQ is here, this is a pretty big deal.

Good. They never should have had one.

...in the face of severe scrutiny from conservative groups.

Bullshit. Conservative groups have been on Target's ass about DEI and LGBTQ stuff for years. They're getting rid of it now because it's divisive, expensive, and ineffective (DEI, see what I did there?). Trump being in power gives them the opportunity to dump something they no longer want to do, at a time where it's safe for them to do it.

I can now feel comfortable with my wife spending money there again (not that she cared about my opinion on this). But she did have a few friends that stopped shopping at Target because of this so I just told her and she was like whoa maybe one of them will go with me again. :ROFLMAO:

100%.

They may be curtailing DEI activities by name, but this stuff is deeply rooted in the culture at Target. It will simply be rebranded and manifest itself another way.

Companies are like the tech bros we've seen over the last few weeks...looking at you, probably robotic Zuckerdude. They bend, but don't break, with changing winds. Does anyone here really think if Bid...Harris or whoever the fuck won these companies would kill their DEI programs? Shit, son, they would double down! The closings aren't companies righting the ship, these offices and policies are going away because political fortunes have changed and with those fortunes go stock prices.

Don't give Target or any other company kudos. This is about perception and stock prices. But stock prices. This is really about stock prices. Money.
