The Brief

  • A purge at the Pentagon continued Friday with the firings of the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, the highest-ranking Navy officer and the Air Force vice chief of staff.
  • Trump is removing most officials from the Biden administration even though many of those positions are meant to carry over from one administration to the next.
Adm. Lisa Franchetti, chief of naval operations for the U.S. Navy, has been fired by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The firing of Franchetti, the highest-ranking officer in the Navy, came shortly after President Donald Trump announced he had fired Air Force Gen. CQ Brown Jr. as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Trump said he's nominating retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan "Razin" Caine to be the next chairman.

Stop. We already know you love @amlove21.

Kidding. Yeah, definitely unusual.
Some little birdies let me know some things- apparently the SEL and commander were briefing a unit and there was obvious tension (some say) and borderline straight up disagreement (others say) in front of the men.

Also- I have friends that can look at how the chief is ‘coded’- and currently he’s got an OSI tag. Meaning- active investigation.

My bet? Just like 99.9% of all ‘loss of confidence’ for dudes- inappropriate sexual behavior. The only reason I think this is because of literally every single time leading up to this.

Yep. Usually sexual. Often alcohol. Very often both.
