Europe has seen Trump for what he is, a full isolationist who is destroying the world order that we've spent 80 years building. They clearly see we're not reliable. Which is fair. However, I did read one thing out there. For Europe to really achieve the defense spending it needs to, there will need to be significant cut backs to the Welfare state.
I mean Canada as an example is in a similar state. It cannot afford to defend itself and has been wholly reliant on the US as it chose to adopt the European welfare state model.

No, Trump is a pragmatic. We either let him attempt to negotiate peace. Or as Europe and Canada has all but declared, this is full on WW3 to eliminate Putin because they don't trust him.
Trudeau reiterating Zelensky's words. We're going to war and it infuriates me this is the world my kids inherit.
So now it's Russian, North Korean and now Chinese troops on the ground.

I think you missed the point I made. Canada has no ability to defend itself and if it chose to fund that defense it would need to shift from the Welfare state model.

The deal was done, it was agreed upon and all he had to do was sign it. He's been in bed with Democrat's a lot longer. Does it not make sense that they had him scuttle the deal?
You have such a hard on for Putin, you are not looking at reality on the ground in the US and Ukraine. We have never been so close to nuclear war, ever. We're closer today than the Cuban missile crisis.

What was presented was not a deal.
"Give up all of the occupied land after your women and Children have been raped and murdered, and maybe we might give you a few weapons, but first you must give us your mineral rights". Hard pass.
This is your hero, Zelensky. I'm willing to say both Putin and Zelensky are horrible human beings. Both sides are evil. But one side has the capability to turn North America into ash. There's still time for you to go to Ukraine and volunteer.

Maybe you want Socialism, but I didn't spend 80 years turning Europe into a welfare state that needs a mercenary force from the US to save their asses. Europe can have a Socialist/Welfare state, or be free. They currently lean towards welfare, and restrictions on liberty and free speech. Feel free to embrace it, I won't.

Choosing between Putin and Z Money is like choosing between Al Qaeda and the Klan while a narcoterrorist (China) waits to exploit the chaos. We might be the US, but we can't afford to charge off and fight/ support every battle out there. Z Money pleads poverty, but he and the Cash Money Boyz have skimmed tens of, if not hundreds of, millions of dollars in aid money. If they could show us where the money went, I could be inclined to send them more, but they can't and our Democrats don't want the skim exposed because they're in on the fraud. Then there's the little matter of how a Ukrainian Ben Stiller was elected in the first place...
I think Putin using nukes is a non-starter and I don't know why that argument exists. I am far more worried about a nuclear invasion of Taiwan because that fight isn't about land, but people.
I gag at the thought of siding with Putin or giving him anything. Allowing him to keep the land he stole is abhorrent. What choice to do we have? This is reality. We can't be everywhere at once so we need to decide if that's Europe or Asia. What allies do we have in Asia? Japan and Australia, each with their own problems. Europe has a dozen or whatever industrialized nations who have chosen some drastic economic policies over the years. Now they're being called in to account and they don't like providing answers because they can't. Some of you remember this "Europe needs to police Europe" argument from the Balkans and it remains true to this day. Europe needs to man up.
We can only do so much and something has to go. If we're going to go into debt, we should do so for things that matter like housing and feeding our troops. Z Money has had his day. I recommend he hire the best security money can buy and fuck off to some sympathetic country.
