The writing on the wall has been there for years. Russia has the means to continue the war indefinitely. Europe and America don't have the will to allow it to keep going on and draining their resources. No one is going to fight Russia for Ukraine, other than the Ukrainians. It sucks but they're going to a lose territory to Russia. To me the only question is how much more Ukrainian blood and American money it's going to take to get there.

It depends on whether you are talking about the American taxpayer money that is being sent to Ukraine so that they can buy "things", or the profits being made by the American Defense Industry as they take payment of those same taxpayer dollars for selling those "things" to Ukraine?

Pulling from the other thread, well after weeks of talks and having talks brokered by the Vatican and the POTUS saying we're "super close to a deal". Lavrov does an interview with a Brazilian paper because I don't even know why and basically says Ukraine has to disarm.
It's almost like (follow me here) neither side is serious about peace and we shouldn't be involved. Maybe the days of America being everyone's arbiter of peace are coming to an end?

We can throw money at Ukraine until we have to print more and all we're buying is a stalemate. Stop the money, Russia wins. Keep it flowing, Ukraine never wins. Send in troops, we fight a near peer on his home ground, risk WW3 and fill body bags.
