Syria Thread

And Israel is like, well, we're just going to slide in here and blow the living shit out of anything that may have actual military importance so that when these two fuckstains are done clobbering each other, we don't really need to worry about who's left standing.
Those 75 airstrikes we did probably accomplished the same thing.

Here’s a good one: Erdogan sez he’s gonna help build a “terrorist-free Syria.”

Translation: adios Kurds.

Ethnic cleansing is inbound. The best part is the UN MIGHT release a statement condemning the actions and NATO MIGHT release a similar statement...but that's it. The UN is useless and NATO has a history of allowing Turkey to do whatever it wants.

The world is going to "see ya', wouldn't wanna'be ya'" to the Kurds. No arms, no humanitarian aid, nothing.

The Russians are scrambling diplomatically to retain them by kissing the asses of HTS leadership…whom they’ve previously called terrorists.
It will be interesting to see the semantics we use. Unless we want to get bogged down in another Middle Eastern country's civil war, we're going to have to deal with the HTS, which will likely mean... I don't know maybe taking down the $10M bounty we have on their leader's head?

We didn't have the Haqanni Network as a terrorist org for YEARS because, well "reasons" I guess. And now one of their top folks is in the Taliban government, which for some reason we still give money to.

Israel should just blow them up and put any discussion to rest. What's anyone gonna say about it?
I think a direct attack against Russia isn't in their interests. However, if Russia pulls all of their people and equipment out (maybe they did, I don't know?) then yeah. Bomb the shit out of it and make it unusable for decades.

In fact, if the Russians are gone, maybe the US could do it and blame it on the Israelis.

From what I read, the Russians left Tartus a couple days ago.

Agree, a direct attack on the base while they're there would be...unwise.

I don’t think there’s any Russians left there to fuck with. Reports indicate the Russians fled their bases throughout the country.

Then it will be a whole lot tougher for the Russians to negotiate a deal to get them back. Moscow says they are still attempting to “engage” the new leadership to work out a deal, but that may just be face saving bullshit.
