The Russian General Staff predicted a short war. The CIA expected Kiev to fall in a few weeks. Three days? I think this is one of those times when somebody in the media runs with something they've heard that sounds good, and all the other media outlets pounce on it--because it sounds good--and it becomes accepted as fact through repetition.

I’d also want to know the real reason he left the Ukrainian forces. I’m guessing he got booted for some kind of major transgression that precluded continued service and also made it so he couldn’t go back to the US.
Or he got captured by the Russians and is now trying to save his own skin.
Two years sounds like an early out for some reason.
Wait for someone on SM to say they know him, or were with him in the Ukraine.
FWIW- The list of countries he can live in just got very small, if he exists.

Not at all. The Army did two year enlistment during the Surge and brought them back in 2017.
